.. where Ikea tries ski waxing

Hello there! It’s me, Ikea!

u must have thought the winter is over! not in this neck of woods! hehe… *neck* of woods…
so, there is lot of fun to have with the snow. even for a giraffe, like me. so i decided to learn ski waxing! i don’t have my own skis yet, i’m afraid. but it is good to know how to wax them properly when u finally have them, don’t u think? it seems perfectly logical to me. so, here come some fotografs that i managed to take in the process.

apparently first of all, it’s good to do some brushing with a metal brush. i can understand that. it seems to me that all animals (that i know) like brushing from time to time too. like for example, i very much like to brush my back when it is itching. also, i can tell Angel needs to do a lot more brushing, because his fur is all tangled up, u know. at least most of the time it is. because of hiding in the bamboo basket, that’s why.

so, then, u need this candy-bar looking wax. i think this is for going really fast. then u need to do some ironing and scraping too, but i don’t have any fotografs from that. i think i had to go somewhere and when i got back all that was already done. so, i hope i can try that some other time.

and then, if u want to ski classic style (i can secretly tell you that for most animals, classic is highly recommended, hehe) u need some grip wax too:

and that’s pretty much it! after all this waxing, skiing is supposed to be six times as fun as without! did u know that? let me know! so, cu l8r!

.. where Ikea is playing yatzy with Saab och Volvo

Hello there! It’s me, Ikea!

i have had few questions about friends who are living together with me. so, i did a little research and here are the results: first, i guess you have already heard about Angel, the ice-bear. he usually sits on telly or hides in the bamboo basket, if u ask me. then, just recently a new friend, Undu moved in also. he’s very funny with his sheep coat. since about a year ago, we also have a girl in our house, named Leenu. apparently she’s not been on this blog yet. hmm… that’s probably because she’s really quiet! then i have also another friend called Vassu – he’s a calf. in fact, i may need to blog about him some other time in more detail, he’s actually quite funny. and then of course, there are Saab and Volvo. they are Teddy-bears. they are actually from Jonköping, Sweden, like me, so i guess they were actually the first roommates.

so, with a lot of fun outside in the snow recently, yesterday me and Saab and Volvo decided to do something fun in the house – to play yatzy. i think Saab and Volvo are playing yatzy and other games quite often with Leenu, but i have been really busy recently with my fotografs.

so, here we are, throwing dice. and if u are asking who won, then we don’t know for sure..! because in the middle of the game, when it was my turn and i was counting dice, Saab quickly ate the paper where we had been marking the scores! he wasn’t doing so well i’m afraid, that’s why. so, i think Volvo actually won because every time he had all sixes, as u can see here:

.. where Ikea and Undu find Angel in the snow and take fotografs

Hello there! It’s me, Ikea!

now, here comes the fotografs of me, Undu and Angel, as i promised. if you have been reading this blog, then you know that i like to play hide-and-seek with my friend Angel. but if we want to have fun, then we can’t play it too often. because you see, at home, Angel usually always hides in the bamboo basket  and i usually know he hides there. so, Angel was very exited to play with me outside, especially in the snow, which he, somehow, likes a lot. i had just got another friend, Undu, so three of us went outside on our trip near Pärnu. Angel was supposed to hide, then Undu was to go seek him and then i had to find them both. so, here we go, on this first fotograf, you can see Angel hiding somewhere in the bushes:

and here on these next ones, this is Undu going to investigate, who’s threre. see if you can find Angel on this second fotograf:

i have to tell you it was about -20*C outside, so Undu has his sheep-costume all zipped up to his teeth.

now here, it’s me contemplating a move. because it was all snow and no sheep costume for me, i had to run very quickly. in fact i ran so fast that there are no fotografs of me actually getting there, i’m afraid.

on this fotograf, i have taken Undu’s sheep-hat and he is trying to get it back, hehe!

then, after all that good fun game, we also took some other fotografs in the sun. like for example on these next two i am checking out this shadow of mine. i like the shadows, as you know, a lot. although i have to tell you, it is not easy to catch them, especially when they are behind you. i tried.

so, what was going on here. it’s a funny game actually that Undu was telling me about. There is this old Estonian saying (as you migth have guessed, Undu is born in Estonia, so he knows these things much better than me) that “Lume all on peidus võit, kraabi siit!” which in English means something like “There is a prize under the snow, scratch here” or something. so, here we are playing this game or scratch. however, no luck with prizes. maybe next time! so, thanks for stopping and cu l8er!
