.. where Ikea goes to Tartu Snow Town

Hello there! It’s me, Ikea! Couple of weeks ago I was visiting my friends Muzzy and Aura again in Tartu. I have been to Tartu before but this time i had to go and check the snow town they had built there. and here comes some fotografs:

i have to tell you, it was quite chilly, something like -24*C. so as you can see, not too many kids or even giraffes playing there that morning. you probably wonder why didn’t Muzzy or Aura come along with me. it’s because i was in snow town before my visit to them, which was actually a secret. i love secrets a lot, as u know.

apparently, this snow town had quite a few tubes and sliding slopes for a lot of fun for giraffes and the like. it was not so easy to understand the actual figures, because when i got there this snow town looked like ancient snow town for some reason. but there was a frog, which is this one on this fotograf and then i think there was aslo one huge dragon – for all my dragon-loving friends to know. no moose’ however.

many tubes and slides, jei! this one was probably the most fun for me. exactly the right size too! great fun. probably everyone should have a little snow town in their back yard, i think? so, if you are in the area, you can check it out! i have also heard there is this new snow town in Tallinn as well, maybe i will go check it out some day, before it melts, hehe.. anyways, please write a comment if you have some great experience or fotografs of you in snow towns!

next time, i plan to post some pics from my trip to Tartu Maraton ski tracks. how did they know i was going to go there and posted this Tartu Maraton sign also on the snow town? how very mysterious…

..where Ikea is watching Rally in the snow

Hello there! It’s me, Ikea!

it seems to me that the post about angel in snow has to wait a little. because for the last week i have been travelling in South-Estonia and doing other fun things. like for example, on Saturday, i went to watch the Võru Rally in lots of cold weather and snow. they tell me it was something like -25*C, so that’s pretty cold, i guess…

so then, i took some fotografs as well. i have to tell you i was in two places. first i was in a with some proffessional-looking latvian foto people. i did not understand a word. apparently latvian is totally different from anything we, giraffes, speak. so, here i am, waiting for the rally cars to come:

(u can see some fotografers also on this one).

and, here we go, here is a car with flashlights! i like the flashlights of this one, because they are orange, like me. jei!
now, here comes a series of fotografs of this one car that came closest to the snow wall i was sitting on. you’ll see i was totally covered with snow afterwards! there was so much snow that it covered the sun for a while. interesting.

so, here’s also a red car. i liked this one because it’s red and it did not block the sun like some others. somehow, the sun has also got stuck on the telefone pole or something, hehe.

so, this is actually where the cars came from. so you can watch them like a long time. apparently for some of these cars it took so long to drive this road that i fell asleep while watching. so later i went back to my old spot. but take a look at this funny figure. thece icelets are really cool. especially on my tongue :P but look at these shades, hehe!

like i said, some cars were quite slow. so in between the cars there was plenty of sun outside for me to try one of my other hobbies – sunbathe – in this sunny cold weather. it’s nice!

Later on, we went to this other place to see, how many cars were lucky to get to the final stage at this other . you can see those fotografs and many more from Tuuka on this . i have to tell you that when all cars finished, it was already night outside, so i had to check if my camera still works:

hehe :) cu l8r!

.. where Ikea is meeting other animals in the Zoo

Hello there! It’s me, Ikea!

Here comes the last set of fotografs that i have from my trip to Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo few weeks ago. apparently, there are many more fun animals to see in the zoo besides my brothers giraffes that i was talking about in the last post. so, first of all, there are, of course, my friends meerkats:

Hello, look here! it’s me, Ikea! I think he heard, hehe

Guess what, there is a meerkat on this fotograf! staring right at me. as well as on this next one. these meerkats are not very easily noticed with this background you know :)

so, after a good chat with meerkats, we went for a skyride across the park. i have to say i used the chance to take a few bites from the treetops as well…

but here’s a little areal view of the tortoise on blanks of wood. apparently sunbathing :)

onwards, to the big white cats:

so, here i tried to ask them why they look exacly like zebras? but somehow i could not go near enough so they could hear me. anyway, i think the zoo did not have more room for zebras, so they have zebra-colour big white cats instead. (you know, there are zebras also, together with giraffes for example on this fotograf and hippos, but not that many..)
or, maybe the tigers got loose and ate some zebras :( and now because of that they all turn white like that? many questions unanswered..

and here’s me with a bunch of alligators. they all slept there like treetrunks and were not much fun at all. so only one fotograf of them:

but here, a question – what kind of animal is on this next fotograf and what is going on?

apparently, there is a shiamang feeding a baby shiamang, as you can see from this next foto where i am trying to make a shimp impression:

Of course, there are many more animals in this zoo, but i didn’t fotograf all of them because they were busy making other things. then, many were on a lunchbreak also and some others did not want to be fotografed at all for some reason. but you can go and check them out, like for example my funny friends lemurs :)

and for all meerkat fans, here’s a link to a meerkat cam on Cheyenne Mountain Zoo – they are out when there is no snow.
