.. where Ikea is watching Salomon Superwoman

Hello there! It’s me, Ikea!

guess what i did last Sunday? i was playing sports, hehe! running, mostly. and taking fotografs. running because i wanted to see my friend Sipsik, who was attending this Superwoman competition. Lot’s of fun! but not-so-easy too, it seems to me.. because, u know, in fact there were other sports besides running too! like for example rollerskating (lots of fun!!), mountain-biking:

(- quite hard this bicycling, don’t u think?) and swimming. we, giraffes are not so much into swimming u know. for two reasons, really: 1. long necks 2. water.

but the gr8 news is that my friend Sipsik got a medal, jei! second place in team competition in fact! check it out:

so, it was a really really gr8 fun Sunday! en plus, we had some ice-cream later for celebration, jei!! i don’t have a fotograf of that, for personal reasons hehe! what did you do for fun in the weekend? let me know! have fun and cu l8r!

.. where Ikea goes to Paide

Hello there! It’s me, Ikea!

last week has beel lots of fun. because of midsummer night, u know. it’s a big party here in this neck of woods, hehe! this time however, lots of wind, so not too many bonfires, i’m afraid. so i did not take fotografs. but i did take some fotografs next day with lots of sunshine and warm wind! and geocaching too, jei! so, we went to this town called Paide, especially to the Castle area – you know, what’s left of it, because it was destroyed a few hundred years ago, really bad. so right now apparently they don’t use the stone for castles anymore, so they make statues instead. like this one:

it says many things on it, like belief, hope, love etc. but there are LOTS!

still, there’s some castle left, like this great big tower:

they say it used to be a cafe up there. not any more, i checked. not even for giraffes! that’s a pity. so u need to find other fun things to do. already told u about the statues, so another thing to do is to peek out of windows. like this:

well, they used to be windows. but u can still peek, that’s for sure. And u can play geocaching, as there is one cache which gets you doing lots of exploring in the area. Good fun!
There was another thing i was doing but that will be a secret for now! hehe! until then, let me know if u celebrate midsummer in your area? have fun and cu l8r!

.. where Ikea is making pancakes!

Hello there! It’s me, Ikea!

guess what! i heard from my friends in twitter that it was a fathers day recently? on Sunday, perhaps? so, i figured, for Sunday (sounds like Funday, don’t you think?) i would do something fun. Apparently, in Estonia fathers day is in November. so it seems to me that it was Fathers Day mostly for my friends in the U.S.A.?  so, me and Saab figured we do something that is very much USA, fathery and edible (thats something u can eat. it was Saab who suggested that, but i was OK). So, we did – PANCAKES! jei!

As it turns out, pancakes are really good fun to bake, because: 1. it takes very little time 2. they are very tasty. So, we got this very special US pancake powder from this one store and made real US-style pancakes. apparently, the difference is in the fact that they are not thin (like crepes) but thick! and also u make them in stacks of 5, so they look nice (i’m not sure this is official rule, but it sounds reasonable). unfortunately i don’t have too many fotografs because Saab pretty much ate most of them (pancakes) before i could get the camera ready. Therefore, u can’t see Saab, really, on the photo here as he is muching on a pancake somewhere. so i have one fotograf that seems OK. Next time i will try to *not* to include Saab in the making of any sort of food because he clearly only has one thing in mind. I must admit that after all this pancake making, i am officially missing 3 spoons, 2 eggs, 2 litres of dishwashing liquid, 2,5 regular plates and one extra extra wide bowl. As well as one large box of tablets that go in dishwashing machine. Also, for some reason, for the past 2 days Saab refuses to leave the bathroom?

so, making pancakes is gr8 fun as well as eating them! as of right now, they totally make my 100 top things to eat list, hehe! Unfortunately we did not have any maple syrup, so need to get that next time. until then, have fun and cu l8r! also greetings to my friend Zack, he is a lot into cooking i hear!
